Angel Fly Fishing Stories dressing

  • Hook #ahrex FW 525, 12

Materials

  • Body Foam - Tan
  • Wing CDC - Dark olive & deer hair (hunted by my friend)
  • Thorax & leggs Deer hair

How to tie it

  1. Run the primrose thread from behind the eye to the 70% mark above the barb, keeping the body slim and translucent. The pale silk is the abdomen.
  2. Leave the front quarter bare for the thorax and bring the thread back to the 75% mark.
  3. Build a small thorax with a pinch of light hare's ear, half of what you think, to give the pale body a buggy shoulder.
  4. Tie in a pale grey partridge hackle by the tip, dull side toward the eye, right at the front of the thorax.
  5. Take one to two turns only, sweep the fibers back, and pin them slightly rearward so they angle back like unfolding legs.
  6. Whip finish a small neat head and add a drop of head cement.
