Tail/shuck Brown Antron with wood duck (or wood duck dyed mallard) (A few fibers of each)
Body Brown slim thread (One strand of brown Slim Rib over a thread underbody)
Emerging wing Tan emerging wing (One TroutHunter CDC feather)
Thorax dubbing Pale yellow thorax dubbing (A pinch of Superfine or similar)
Legs Tan cdc pulled (CDC fibers pulled down from the wing)
How to tie it
Start the light brown thread behind the eye and wrap a smooth base back to the start of the bend.
Tie in a few brown Antron fibers together with a small pinch of wood duck flank at the bend as a short shuck, about half a shank long; trim the butts and bind them down smoothly.
Tie in a strand of brown Slim Rib at the bend, then build a smooth, slightly tapered thread underbody forward to the 65% point.
Wrap the Slim Rib forward over the thread body in touching turns to the 65% point; tie off and trim.
Tie in a tan CDC feather at the 65% point with the tips pointing back over the body, about one body length long, as the emerging wing; trim the butts.
Dub a sparse noodle of pale yellow Superfine and wrap a small thorax from the wing tie-in forward, leaving room behind the eye.
Pull two or three CDC fibers from the wing down each side as legs and lock them in with a couple of thread wraps.
Whip finish a small head and add a tiny drop of cement.
