Head Spun deer hair, trimmed to a bullet (2-3 clumps)
Weedguard (optional) Hard mono loop (1 piece)
How to tie it
Tie in the tail at the bend, splayed saddle hackles or a craft fur clump about 1.5 shank lengths long, with a few strands of flash.
Spin 2-3 clumps of deer hair on the front half of the shank, packing each tightly.
Whip finish at the eye and trim the head into a bullet or wedge: flat or rounded on the bottom, tapered to the eye. Pointed forward so it slides and wakes instead of popping.
Leave a collar of untrimmed hair tips flowing back over the tail for a soft silhouette.
Add a mono weedguard before finishing if you'll fish it in the grass.
