Classic Recipe
Hook salmon/steelhead streamer, 1-1/0
Thread fire orange 6/0 UNI
Materials
Body Silver Mylar tinsel (1 length)
Wing/hackle Pink marabou (2 plumes)
Front hackle Purple marabou (1 plume)
Flash Pearl Krystal Flash or Flashabou (6-8 strands)
How to tie it
Lay a thread base and wrap a flat silver Mylar body over the rear two-thirds of the shank.
Tie in a pink marabou plume by the tip at the front of the body and wind it 2-3 turns like a hackle, stroking the fibers rearward each turn.
Wind the second pink plume the same way just ahead of the first. Marabou wound as hackle gives the fly its whole action; there's almost nothing else to it.
Add 3-4 strands of pearl flash on each side.
Wind the purple marabou plume as a final collar, 2 turns, so purple veils the pink.
Build a neat fire-orange head, whip finish, and cement. The hot head is a classic steelhead trigger spot.
