Classic Recipe

• Hook 2x heavy wet fly or jig, 4-8
• Thread Red or chartreuse 6/0

Materials

• Eyes/head Bead chain or small dumbbell, or painted cone of thread (1 pair)
• Tail White calf tail or marabou (short clump)
• Body Chartreuse, pink, or red chenille/diamond braid (tapered)
• Collar Red thread band (behind head)

How to tie it

1. Tie in eyes or build a tapered dart head
2. Short white tail at the bend
3. Wrap bright body forward with a dart taper, fat at head, slim at rear
4. Red band behind the head, whip finish, coat head with cement
