Build the rear section first: on the trailer hook, tie a full marabou tail with flash, then a marabou collar. Set it aside.
On the front hook, loop 20lb Beadalon wire through the rear hook's eye and bind the wire doubled along the front shank. The hinge must swing freely side to side.
Build the front body with a dubbing brush or chenille, palmered full.
Add a flared collar of deer hair or marabou.
Spin and pack deer hair for the head, then trim to a broad sculpin wedge. Flat bottom, wide cheeks.
Tie in dumbbell eyes at the head. Whip finish and cement hard.
