Senyo's Trout Parr

Reference Recipe

  • Hook short-shank streamer or scud hook, 8-12
  • Thread olive 6/0 (140 denier)

Materials

  • Bead-chain eyes Silver bead chain eyes medium (1 pair (small))
  • Senyo's Laser Dub White, olive, brown senyo s laser dub (clumps of each)
  • Krystal Flash Pearl flashabou (4 strands)
  • Barred fibers or marabou Olive marabou (few (parr marks))

How to tie it

  1. Lock the hook in and lay a thread base. Tie in a small pair of bead-chain eyes near the front for a touch of weight and a low, level ride.
  2. At the bend, tie in a sparse tail of Laser Dub or a few marabou fibers, about half a shank long.
  3. Build the baitfish body in reversed clumps of Laser Dub (white on the belly, olive and brown on top) tying each clump across the shank at its middle and folding it back, working forward in two or three bundles.
  4. Add a few strands of pearl flash and a darker Laser Dub topping; pick in a few short barred fibers along the flanks to suggest parr marks.
  5. Whip finish behind the eye and cement.
  6. Comb out the Laser Dub and trim it to a slim little minnow profile, narrow overall with a slightly deeper belly.
