Start black 52 denier thread toward the back of the shank.
Stack a small bunch of moose body hair (not moose mane) and tie in a short tail about one body-length long; follow with medium, not tight, wraps so fine thread doesn't flare the hair.
Tie in a small grizzly dry fly hackle at the rear, catching it in slightly off to the side, with a few wraps to secure the stem.
Tie in the tapered end of the green foam strip a couple of millimetres forward of the very back, leaving the tag pointing rearward so it can fold forward; squish the tie-down flat.
Palmer the small grizzly hackle forward over the bare shank in tight turns to just behind the eye area. No dubbed body is used, the tight palmer is the body.
Fold the foam strip forward over the top of the hackle to form the hump, squish the barbs down beneath it, and secure with a couple of wraps.
Trim the foam fairly close, leaving a small nub that can be buried under thread wraps to lock the foam down.
Tie in the second, slightly larger grizzly hackle at the front and take about three wraps for the collar.
Wet your fingers, pull everything back, ramp up a small flat area, whip finish, and check that no barb blocks the eye (a thread burner will clear one if needed).
