Wing White arctic fox, over black crystal flash, over colored bucktail
How to tie it
Pinch the barb on a 4X long streamer hook, start black thread and lay a base back to about the start of the bend.
Bring the thread forward to a couple of eye lengths behind the eye and catch in the large silver tinsel there.
Wrap the tinsel back and then forward in touching turns until you return to the front, and take a couple of wraps to secure it.
Tie in a small bunch of colored bucktail on top as the first layer of the wing. Cord the thread up first, and put one wrap up under the bunch to keep it from spinning around the shank.
Snip the bucktail butts out at the front.
Tie in a few strands of black crystal flash over the bucktail as a lateral line — a thin tuft of black bucktail works if you don't have it.
Tie in a medium, fairly long tuft of white arctic fox over the top, leaving room in front for a good-sized streamer head, and add a couple of tight wraps back over it. The fox behaves and looks like marabou in the water.
Snip all the fluff off the front, then take the thread forward and build a nice big streamer head.
Whip finish, put a big drop of UV resin on the head and spin it under the light for ten or fifteen seconds for a hard shiny finish.
