Reference Recipe
- Hook saltwater stainless, 2-6
- Thread tan or brown 6/0
Materials
- Bucktail or craft fur (tail) Tan/brown bucktail or craft fur (1 clump)
- Krystal Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands)
- Peacock herl (body) Natural peacock herl (4-5 strands)
- Round rubber legs To match rubber legs (2-3 strands)
- Bead chain or small lead eyes n/a (1 pair)
How to tie it
- Lash bead-chain or small lead eyes near the eye so the hook rides point-up.
- At the bend tie in a tan/brown hair tail with a few strands of pearl Krystal Flash, tail about one shank length.
- Tie in several peacock herls and twist them into a rope.
- Wrap the peacock rope forward to the eyes to form a buggy, iridescent body.
- Figure-8 two or three rubber legs along the body so they splay and undulate.
- Add a dubbed collar behind the eyes to prop the legs if needed, then whip finish and cement.
