How to tie it
- Lash bead-chain or small lead eyes near the eye so the fly rides point-up.
- At the bend tie in a few strands of tan bucktail and pearl flash as antennae extending past the bend.
- Tie in a palmer hackle and a length of tan Estaz (or a dubbing brush) at the bend.
- Wrap the Estaz forward to behind the eyes, then palmer the hackle through it and sweep the fibers down for legs.
- Optional: pull a strip of clear scud-back over the top as a translucent carapace and rib it down.
- Build a tan head behind the eyes, whip finish, and cement.
