Reference Recipe
- Hook saltwater stainless, 1/0-4
- Thread white / clear mono clear mono or flat waxed
Materials
- Bucktail (belly) White bucktail (sparse clump)
- Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands)
- Bucktail (back) Olive or tan bucktail (sparse clump)
- Stick-on eyes Silver d eyes mm (1 pair, small)
- UV resin Clear uv resin (as needed)
How to tie it
- Start thread near the eye and tie in a sparse white bucktail belly, long and slim, two to three shank lengths.
- Add a few strands of pearl flash over the belly.
- Tie in a sparse olive or tan bucktail over the top for the back, matching length; keep the profile pencil-thin.
- Switch to clear mono thread (or keep thread sparse) and build a slim, tapered head over the front third.
- Set small stick-on eyes on each side of the head.
- Coat the head and forward body with thin UV resin to lock the eyes and form a slender, translucent body; cure.
- Add a second thin UV coat for a smooth, hard, minnow-like finish and cure hard.
