Reference Recipe

  • Hook egg/scud hook (TMC 2457), 8-12
  • Thread hot pink or red 6/0

Materials

  • Bead Gold or hot orange bead (1)
  • Estaz or micro chenille (body) Egg color (peach/orange) (1 length)
  • Egg yarn (veil) Pale/white egg yarn (small pinch)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a bead to the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Wrap a thread base back to the bend.
  3. Tie in a length of egg-colored Estaz at the bend.
  4. Wrap the Estaz forward in tight touching turns to behind the bead, brushing the fibers back, then tie off.
  5. Tie a sparse cloud of contrasting pale egg yarn over the top as a milky veil and trim it short.
  6. Take a few turns of bright thread as a hot-spot collar behind the bead.
  7. Whip finish and cement.
