How to tie it
Start brown thread behind the eye and build a small thread bump; tie in bead-chain eyes with figure-eight wraps snugged against the bump, run the thread to the bend, and add super glue to lock the eyes.
Tie in two lengths of barred-olive rubber legs at different lengths on top: the short pair just longer than the shank, the long pair pulled back and secured down the bend; trim to taste.
Cut a pencil-thick clump of cream craft fur, strip out the short fuzzy fibers, and tie it in on top extending about 1.5-2 hook-lengths; take a single wrap around the butt and reinforce so it kicks up to about 45 degrees.
Bar the craft fur with the chisel tip of an olive marker, three or four bars per side.
Tie in a clump of olive Arctic fox about half the length of the craft fur; spin it 360 degrees with two loose wraps, distribute it evenly, tighten, and cover the butts.
Fold a single strand of black crystal flash over the thread and tie it in so it sits on each side, trimmed to about craft-fur length.
Tie in a 0.5" EP Wooly Critter (sculpin) brush; pull the wire back, palmer it forward with tight neat wraps avoiding trapped fibers, and tie off behind the eyes; trim the wire and brush it out with velcro.
Invert the fly and tie in a 20-30 lb mono weed guard: hook it over the eye, secure, adjust, and take a couple of wraps in front to kick it up; whip finish and trim the weed guard flush at the tip.
Apply thick Loon UV epoxy between and around the eyes and onto the weed-guard base to lock the guard and eyes, covering the thread wraps to form a mask, and cure with the light.
