Reference Recipe
- Hook barbless jig or curved grub hook, #10-14
- Thread black 8/0
Materials
- Slotted tungsten bead Gold or black bead (3.0-3.8mm)
- Round rubber legs (tail) Black/brown rubber legs (1 pair)
- Dubbing (body) Natural hare's ear or brown (pinch)
- Fine wire (rib) Copper wire (short length)
- Round rubber legs (legs) Black/brown rubber legs (2 pairs)
How to tie it
- Bead the barbless hook, start thread behind the bead and run a base to the bend.
- Tie in a short pair of rubber legs at the bend as a split tail, half a shank long, and bind in the copper wire rib.
- Dub a buggy, slightly tapered body forward to the 70% mark.
- Counter-wrap the wire rib forward in 4-5 open turns and tie off for segmentation and durability.
- Figure-8 in one or two pairs of rubber legs at the thorax so they splay out to the sides.
- Dub a small collar to cover the leg roots, whip finish behind the bead, and add a drop of cement.
