Reference Recipe
- Hook standard dry/nymph hook, #20-24
- Thread black 10/0 or 8/0
Materials
- Microfibetts (tails) White or light dun microfibetts (2 fibers)
- Thread (abdomen) Black thread (trace)
- CDC or Antron (wing) White/light dun cdc feathers (small clump)
- Superfine dubbing (thorax) Black dubbing (trace)
How to tie it
- Lay a fine black thread base to the bend on the tiny hook and tie in two split light Microfibett tails one shank length long.
- Build a slim black thread abdomen forward to the 60% mark.
- Tie in a short white CDC or Antron wing upright at the 60% mark, no taller than one hook gap.
- Dub a tiny, sparse black thorax around the wing base; use barely any dubbing at this size.
- Whip finish behind the eye and add the smallest touch of cement to the head only.
