RS2 PALE MORNING

Nymph · Emerger · Trout · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook standard nymph/dry hook, #16-20
  • Thread pale yellow 8/0

Materials

  • Microfibetts (tails) Light dun wing bud (2 fibers)
  • Superfine dubbing (abdomen) Pale yellow/olive (PMD) (trace)
  • CDC (wing) Light dun poly yarn or cdc (small clump)
  • Superfine dubbing (thorax) PMD yellow-olive (pinch)

How to tie it

  1. Lay a thread base to the bend and tie in two light-dun Microfibett tails, split wide, one shank length long.
  2. Dub a slim, tapered PMD-colored abdomen forward to the 60% mark; keep it lean.
  3. Tie in a short light-dun CDC wing upright at the 60% mark, one hook gap tall.
  4. Dub a sparse PMD thorax around and in front of the wing.
  5. Whip finish behind the eye; leave uncemented so the CDC floats in the film.
