Reference Recipe
- Hook standard nymph hook, #16-22
- Thread gray 8/0
Materials
- Microfibetts (tails) Dun microfibetts (2 fibers)
- Pearl tinsel or Flashabou (flashback) Pearl flashabou (1-2 strands)
- Thread (abdomen) Gray thread (trace)
- CDC or Antron (wing) Gray cdc or antron (small clump)
- Superfine dubbing (thorax) Gray superfine dubbing (pinch)
How to tie it
- Lay a thread base to the bend and tie in two split dun Microfibett tails one shank length long.
- Tie in a strand or two of pearl flash at the bend, leaving it pointing back for now.
- Wind a slim thread abdomen forward to the 60% mark.
- Tie in a short gray CDC or Antron wing at the 60% mark, one hook gap tall.
- Dub a sparse gray thorax, then pull the pearl flash forward over the top as a flashback and tie it down behind the eye; trim.
- Whip finish and add a drop of cement.
