- Hook standard nymph/dry hook, #16-22
- Thread gray 8/0
Materials
- Microfibetts (tails) Dun microfibetts (2 fibers)
- Thread or fine dubbing (abdomen) Gray superfine dubbing (trace)
- Antron/sparkle yarn (wing) White or pearl antron sparkle yarn (small clump)
- Superfine dubbing (thorax) Gray superfine dubbing (pinch)
How to tie it
- Lay a smooth thread base to the bend and tie in two dun Microfibetts, splitting them wide one shank length long.
- Wrap a slim, tapered thread abdomen forward to the 60% mark.
- Tie in a short clump of pearl Antron sparkle yarn as an upright wing at the 60% mark, one hook gap tall, and trim the butts.
- Dub a sparse gray thorax around and in front of the wing up to one eye-length behind the eye.
- Whip finish and add a tiny drop of cement.
