Reference Recipe
Hook barbless jig/competition hook, 14-18
Thread Black 70D
Materials
Slotted tungsten bead Silver or black bead (1, sized to hook)
Tail Coq de Leon (pardo) (few fibers)
Body Black holographic tinsel/thread (1 strand)
Thorax hot spot (optional) Colored tinsel/thread (few turns)
UV resin Clear uv resin (thin coat)
How to tie it
Slide the slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook, slot toward the eye; seat it and start black thread.
Lay a thread base to the bend.
Tie in a short, sparse Coq de Leon fiber tail, half a shank long.
Tie in a strand of black holographic tinsel at the tail.
Wrap the tinsel forward in smooth, slightly overlapping turns to just behind the bead for a slim, glossy body; tie off.
Optionally add 2-3 turns of a bright thorax behind the bead as a hot spot.
Whip finish, then coat the whole body in a thin layer of UV resin and cure to a hard, glassy shell. The coating is what makes it sink fast and shed pressured fish.
