Materials
- Bead Gold bead (1, sized to hook)
- Tail Brown goose biots (split) (2)
- Rib Fine gold wire (1 strand)
- Body Peacock herl / red floss / peacock herl (banded)
- Wings White goose biots (2)
- Hackle collar Brown hen (1 feather)
How to tie it
- Slide the gold bead to the eye; start thread behind it and wrap to the bend.
- Tie in two brown goose biots as a split tail, curving apart, half a shank long.
- Tie in fine gold wire at the tail.
- Wrap 2 peacock herls to the middle, tie in red floss and wrap a center band, then peacock again to behind the bead. A royal-banded peacock body.
- Counter-rib the gold wire forward in 4-5 turns and tie off.
- Tie in a brown hen hackle and take 2 turns as a collar; sweep the fibers back.
- Bind two white goose biots flat over the top in a shallow V as wings, tips toward the bend, right behind the bead.
- Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
