Materials
- Tail Golden pheasant tippet fibers (sparse)
- Body Peacock herl and red floss (banded: herl-floss-herl)
- Wing White duck quill (upright, divided)
- Hackle Brown hackle (2-3 wraps)
How to tie it
- Mount hook, tie in tail
- Wrap rear peacock herl section
- Wrap red floss center band
- Wrap front peacock herl section
- Tie in white quill wings
- Wrap hackle collar
- Whip finish
Substitutions
- Wing instead of White duck quill slips: White calf tail — Far more durable hair wing; White poly yarn — Synthetic, easy
- Body instead of Peacock herl & red floss: Peacock Ice Dub + red floss — Tougher peacock sections
- Tail instead of Golden pheasant tippets: Dyed hackle fibers — Fakes the barred tippet color
