- Hook Curved scud/pupa (Mustad C53S), 10-16
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Bead Black nickel or silver bead (1, sized to hook)
- Holographic tinsel (body) Silver flashabou (body length)
- Wire (rib) Black wire (fine, body length)
- Antron/Z-lon (gills) White poly yarn (1 short tuft)
How to tie it
- Seat the bead at the eye and lay a thread base back around the bend.
- Tie in fine black wire at the bend for the rib.
- Tie in silver holographic tinsel and wrap it forward in touching turns to just behind the bead for a bright chrome body; tie off.
- Counter-wrap the black wire forward in 5-6 open turns to segment and protect the tinsel; tie off and break.
- Tie a short tuft of white Antron over the front behind the bead and trim to a stub for the gills.
- Coat the body with thin UV resin for a gassy, durable shine and whip finish behind the bead.
