How to tie it
Thread a bead onto a straight balance pin and lay the pin along the top of the shank so the bead sits a bead's-width past the eye. Bind the pin down firmly over the front third, jam the bead to its stop, and lock with thread and superglue.
Wrap the thread back to the bend.
Tie in a marabou plume at the bend for the tail, one shank length long, with 2-4 strands of Krystal Flash alongside.
Tie in micro chenille or spin dubbing and wrap the body forward to just behind the bead; tie off.
Dub a short UV ice-dub collar behind the bead and brush it out into a breathing halo.
Whip finish behind the bead and cement; hang the finished fly from tippet to check it rides level and shift the bead if needed.
