Tyer Recipe
- Hook streamer / 3x-4x long, 6-10
- Thread Grey or olive 6/0
Materials
- Mallard flank Natural barred wood duck flank (tail and rolled wing)
- Flat tinsel Silver oval tinsel (body)
- Deer body hair Natural deer hair (spun collar and head)
How to tie it
- Start thread and tie in a small bunch of mallard flank fibers for the tail at the bend.
- Tie in silver flat tinsel and wrap forward to just behind the head area to form the body.
- Roll a section of mallard flank into a bunch and tie it in as a wing lying over the body.
- Spin and stack a clump of deer hair to form the collar and head, leaving room behind the eye.
- Trim the deer hair to a rounded muddler head, whip finish, and cement.
