How to tie it
Lay a thread base over the rear 70% of the shank so the foam has tooth to grab.
Cut a hook-gap-wide strip of orange 3mm foam; bind it at the bend, then advance and re-bind every few wraps to form 4 evenly spaced segments, stopping at the 65% mark. Trim the rear foam to a short tag.
Tie in a few strands of root-beer Krystal Flash as an underwing, about body length.
Stack a clump of elk or moose body hair and tie it in as the overwing, tips just past the body; snip the butts.
Figure-8 a black round-rubber strand on each side at the front of the body; trim to a shank length.
Stack a clump of natural deer hair, tie it in reversed with tips forward over the eye, then fold the butts back to form a bullet head, binding with fire-orange thread and leaving the tips flared as a collar.
