Elk or moose body hair (overwing) Natural deer hair (1 clump)
Deer hair (head) Natural/tan deer hair (1 clump)
Round rubber legs Black ostrich herl (2 strands)
How to tie it
Lay a thread base over the rear 70% of the shank for the foam to grip.
Cut a hook-gap-wide strip of golden/tan 3mm foam; bind it at the bend, then advance the thread and re-bind every few wraps to build 4 evenly spaced segments, stopping at the 65% mark. Trim the rear foam to a short tag.
Tie in a few strands of gold/root-beer Krystal Flash as an underwing, about body length.
Stack a clump of elk or moose body hair and tie it in as the overwing with tips just past the body; snip the butts.
Figure-8 a black round-rubber strand on each side at the front of the foam body; trim to about a shank length.
Stack a clump of natural deer hair and tie it in reversed just ahead of the body, tips pointing forward over the eye; then pull the butts back over the tie-in to form a bullet head, binding down with fl. yellow thread and leaving the tips flared back as a collar.
