Reference Recipe

• Hook Jig nymph, 60-degree (barbless), 14-18
• Thread Black 8/0

Materials

• Slotted tungsten bead Matte black tungsten bead (1)
• Floss (hot tag) Fl. orange floss (short piece)
• Pheasant tail fibers Natural (PT) (1 small bunch)
• Wire rib Copper wire (fine, body length)
• CDC feather Natural dun cdc feather (1 for collar)

How to tie it

1. Seat the matte black bead at the eye and lay a thread base to the bend.
2. Tie in fl. orange floss at the bend and wrap a short hot tag over the rear 15% of the shank; tie off and snip.
3. Tie in a fine copper wire rib and a small bunch of pheasant tail fibers by their tips at the tag.
4. Wrap the pheasant tail forward as a slim body to just behind the bead; tie off and snip.
5. Counter-wrap the copper rib forward in 5-6 open turns; secure and helicopter it to break.
6. Tie a CDC feather in by the tip behind the bead, take 2 turns as a soft collar, sweep the fibers back and lock them down.
7. Whip finish behind the bead and add a tiny drop of cement.
