- Thread Chartreuse 8/0
Materials
- Cactus/midge chenille Chartreuse fine chenille (body length)
- Teal flank feather Green-wing teal (barred) (1 feather)

How to tie it
- Start thread at the mid-shank and wrap back to the bend.
- Tie in the chartreuse midge chenille at the bend, then advance thread to the 65% mark.
- Wrap the chenille forward to the 65% mark, tie off, and snip the excess.
- Select a green-wing teal flank feather sized to reach just past the bend; tie it in flat over the body right ahead of the chenille as a barred wing.
- Cut a short piece of fl. cerise foam/egg yarn and bind it at its midpoint with six firm wraps just ahead of the wing.
- Stand the foam upright and wrap 6-8 turns around its base to post it, then trim it to a small tuft to form a hot head/sighter.
- Whip finish behind the eye and cement.
