Peacock herl Natural peacock herl (3-4 strands for the body)

How to tie it
Slide the gold bead to the eye of the curved hook and start black thread behind it, laying a base to the bend. The curved shank gives this Prince a buggier, more shrimp-like profile than the standard version.
Tie in two brown goose biots at the bend, tips curving apart into a short forked V-tail about one hook gap long.
Catch the gold rib at the tail, then bind in 3-4 peacock herls and twist them into a rope with the thread for durability before wrapping a full body forward to just behind the bead.
Counter-wrap the gold rib forward in 4-5 open, even turns to protect the fragile herl, then tie off and snip.
Wind a brown hen hackle 1-2 turns as a soft collar behind the bead, then sweep the fibers down and back so they sit under and alongside the body as legs.
Tie two white goose biots flat on top in a shallow V over the back, tips reaching the mid-body, for the signature Prince wings. Keep them low and even.
Build a small thread head behind the bead, whip finish, and add a drop of cement.
