Microfibbetts / hackle fibers Dun or cream microfibbetts (split tails)
Turkey biot or fine dubbing Brown/olive/rusty (drake shade) (abdomen)
Rooster hackle Grizzly or dun hackle (1 feather (Splitsville brush))
Fine dubbing Thorax shade (thorax)
How to tie it
Start thread and split two or three microfibbetts to each side at the bend for the long tails, spread wide as on a spent drake.
Wrap a turkey biot or dub a slim segmented abdomen forward over the rear two-thirds of the shank.
Catch a doubled loop of thread in front of the abdomen and lock it upright with backward wraps as the hackle post.
Tie in a grizzly or dun hackle dull-side up and wrap it up and down the thread loop over a length matching the thorax, then tie down the tip.
Dub a thorax in front of the hackle brush, stopping short of the eye.
Pull the loaded hackle loop forward and flat over the thorax, bind it behind the eye, and let the fibers splay wide to each side as spent wings; a few clipped top and bottom keep it riding flush.
