How to tie it
Start GSP thread and work back down the shank. Tie in a small piece of light sparkle Antron on top for a shuck, keeping it a consistent size, and stop where you want the body to start.
Dub a tapered body of pale-olive caddis-nymph UV dubbing forward to about the halfway point (this water-absorbing dubbing rides the rear low), trimming out stray guard hairs.
Tie in a natural dun CDC feather as a first underwing tuft over the dubbing and trim the excess.
Cut a thin strip of razor foam, palmer/wrap it in at the front, tie it off with a slight taper, and trim.
Cut the tip off a second, larger CDC feather and lay the remainder forward over the top as another wing layer.
Stack a small clump of bleached elk hair, clean out the fuzz, set it in even with the CDC, and secure with two or three careful pulls (do not over-tighten the GSP or it cuts the hair) to splay it. Pull the tips forward, trim the butts, and leave the head a little bushy.
Trim the Antron shuck to a ragged length, whip finish, and finish the head.
