Krystal Flash (legs) Red holographic tinsel (2-3 strands)
How to tie it
Debarb, slide the red bead to the eye, and start the thread behind it, laying a base to the bend.
Tie in 4-6 pheasant tail fiber tips as a short tail at the bend, about half a shank long.
Bind in the small red wire and a length of medium pearl tinsel at the bend, then build a slim tapered thread abdomen forward to the 60% mark.
Pull the pearl tinsel over the top of the abdomen as a shell and tie it off at 60%, then counter-wrap the red wire forward in 5-6 open turns and secure.
Tie in 1-2 peacock herls and wrap a plump little thorax up to just behind the bead; tie off.
Tie 2-3 strands of red Krystal Flash along each side as legs and trim them roughly to the length of the thorax.
Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of head cement.
