Tie a cut pair of medium silver bead-chain eyes on top of the shank just behind the eye with figure-eight wraps and lock them with a drop of brushable superglue.
Reposition the hook nose-down and carry the thread to the bend.
Tie in a small bunch of sand-variant rabbit zonker strip as a tail, about three-quarters of a shank length, with the underfur pulled out to reduce bulk; wrap the butts down the shank.
Tie in a brown hackle (undersized, about a size 12) by the tip right against the tail base.
Dub a slim rusty March Brown superfine body forward toward the bead-chain eyes.
Reset the hook upright and palmer the brown hackle forward through the body in open turns to the eyes; tie off (counter-rib with mono or wire if you want extra durability).
Tie in a short bunch of peacock sword (8-10 strands) over the top just behind the eyes as a wing/hook guard so it rides over the point.
