Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Gamakatsu B10S (front) + Kona ESS (rear), articulated, #1 front, #6 rear
  • Thread White GSP or 140 denier

Materials

  • Bucktail White/natural bucktail (tail (rear hook))
  • EP Foxy Brush To match ep minnow head brush in (rear and front body)
  • EP Sparkle Brush Pearl anti static bag strip (front body)
  • Arctic fox To match ep minnow head brush in (wing (front))
  • Deer hair To match deer hair (spun head)
  • Articulation wire + beads (1 set)

How to tie it

  1. REAR HOOK (Kona ESS #6): start thread and tie in a bucktail tail at the bend, about one and a half shank-lengths long.
  2. Tie in an EP Foxy Brush and wrap it forward to build the rear body; brush it out rearward and tie off. Whip finish.
  3. Connect the rear hook to the front Gamakatsu B10 #1 with articulation wire and a bead or two, lashed securely to the front shank.
  4. On the front hook, tie in EP Foxy Brush and EP Sparkle Brush and wrap them forward, stroking fibers back, to build a fuller front body.
  5. Tie in an arctic fox wing over the top for movement.
  6. Spin a bundle or two of deer hair at the front to form a head; pack it tight.
  7. Whip finish, then trim the spun deer hair to a rounded baitfish head blended into the body.
