Start the 12/0 fluorescent orange thread on the size 10 scud hook and take it back to about the point where the barb would be.
Peel a little hot orange marabou off one side of a feather - just enough to form a short, stubby tail - and bind it in.
Trim the marabou butts and cover them with thread.
Strip a short piece of the 15mm Fl Yellow Sunburst Plush Chenille back to expose the bare core, bind that down, and run the thread all the way to the front, leaving about one eye-length clear. Do not crowd the head on this fly.
Wrap the chenille forward in touching turns to the thread, tie it off and trim the excess. Wetting the chenille first makes it much easier to handle if blobs are new to you.
Build a small orange head and whip finish.
Give the chenille a slight haircut - take a little off all round, and make sure the hook gape especially is left fairly clear - then round the whole thing off.
