Start thread behind the eye and wrap back to the bend. Tie in a sparse tail of wood duck (or dyed mallard) fibers about half a shank long, leaving the long butts pointing back. They become the back.
Tie in copper wire at the tail for the rib.
Tie in a grizzly hackle by the tip at the tail.
Dub a slim olive hare's-ear body forward to behind the eye.
Palmer the grizzly hackle forward in open turns, then rib the copper wire forward through the hackle in 10+ close turns to segment the body and lock the hackle; tie off.
Pull the long tail butts over the top as a shellback and tie down behind the eye; trim.
