How to tie it
Start the white 12/0 Nano Silk and wrap back to roughly the point of the hook, then back over it once more to lock it down and snip the tag.
Wax the thread and dub a small ball of the Burnt Orange Dubbing right at the rear. It is not much - its only job is to help the legs sit out.
Fold two strands of the Clear/Pearl Silver Sili Legs in half, bind them in just ahead of that ball on top of the shank, give them a stretch, and snip them to length.
Add three or four of the Grizzly Micro Legs the same way, stretched well and bound back down to the dubbing ball, and trim these a little longer than the first set.
Dub a second, bigger ball of Burnt Orange over the tie-in, kept deliberately loose because you will pull this fur out later, then sweep the legs clear with a brush.
Move to the front and bind the Small Dumbbell Eyes in behind the eye: two or three wraps one way, two or three the other, then wraps underneath and around the base to seat them.
Bind a Mono Shrimp Eye down each side, angled so the stalks sit a little past the bend and face downwards, and crank them right down - mono is slippery, which is where a good GSP thread earns its place.
Add a little more of the loose Burnt Orange Dubbing around the eye stalks.
Spin the cream Caenisc Dubbing into a dubbing loop, loading it heavily - plenty of it comes out again when you brush - and wrap it forward, stroking everything back as you go, locking off tight right behind the dumbbell eyes.
Whip finish in front of the eyes but do not cut the thread yet, in case the brushing pulls something loose.
Work the body over aggressively with a stiff brush to pull the dubbing out nice and bushy.
Final whip finish at the head, snip, a dab of crazy glue, then bend the mono eyes outward. The fly rides in this orientation, which is why those eyes are set facing down.
