  • Hook Standard saltwater, 1-1/0
  • Thread Tan or white 6/0

Materials

  • Foam (2mm, double layer) Tan over white (2 strips)
  • Craft fur tail Tan/rust synthetic fiber (1 clump)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands)
  • Rubber legs Barred rubber legs (2 pairs)
  • Bead-chain or mono eyes To match dumbbell eyes (1 pair)
  • Mono weedguard (optional) Clear weed guard (1)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread mid-shank. At the bend tie in a craft-fur shrimp tail one to two shank lengths long, add a few strands of pearl flash and two rubber-leg antennae.
  2. Add a couple of pairs of rubber legs along the shank plus a small dubbed or craft-fur body.
  3. At the front, stack two layers of foam (a color over white) and bind them crosswise to form a buoyant, cupped popper face; trim to a rounded shrimp head.
  4. Tie in bead-chain or mono eyes just behind the foam head.
  5. Add a mono weedguard loop from the hook point to the head if fishing structure.
  6. Whip finish behind the foam and cement.
