Streamer · Largemouth Bass · Smallmouth Bass · Pike · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Wide-gap bass/stinger, 2-6
  • Thread Olive 6/0 or GSP

Materials

  • Frog foam (RRC) Olive frog foam (1 pre-shaped strip)
  • Tail Olive/white craft fur or marabou (1 clump)
  • Flash Pearl/green flash (few strands)
  • Rubber legs Barred olive rubber legs (2 pairs)
  • 3D eyes To match eyes (1 pair)
  • Zap-A-Gap Clear head cement (as needed)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and lay a base on the rear half of the shank. Tie in a sleek olive craft-fur or marabou tail about one shank long with a few strands of flash.
  2. Cut a pre-shaped strip of olive Frog Foam. Bind the foam down at the rear of the body, gluing with Zap-A-Gap.
  3. Pull the foam forward over the top and cinch it at intervals to form a segmented frog back and a slight cupped head at the front.
  4. Tie a pair of rubber legs to each side at the rear segment so they trail like frog legs.
  5. Trim the front of the foam to a small cupped face and tie off just behind it.
  6. Glue 3D eyes to the sides of the head, whip finish under the foam and cement.
