- Hook 3XL-4XL curved nymph, 4-8
- Thread Black or brown 6/0
Materials
- Lead wire - (12-15 turns)
- Chenille or Ice dub body Black or brown dubbing (as needed)
- Round rubber legs Black/barred rubber legs (3 pairs)
- Rubber or biot tails Black or brown goose biots (2)
- Rubber antennae Black or brown rubber legs (2)
How to tie it
- Wrap 12-15 turns of lead wire on the front half of the shank for weight; start thread and lock the wraps.
- At the bend tie in two rubber-leg tails (or brown biots) splayed in a V, half a shank long.
- Tie in the chenille and a first set of rubber legs; wrap the chenille forward a third of the shank and cinch a pair of legs to each side.
- Continue wrapping the body forward, adding a second and third pair of rubber legs at even intervals. Legs that come alive in the current.
- At the head tie in two rubber antennae pointing forward over the eye.
- Build a thread head, whip finish and cement.
