Dub a slim, slightly tapered body forward to about the 70% mark.
Stack a clump of fine deer or elk hair, measure it just past the bend, and tie it in as a low, tent-style down-wing with tips to the rear; trim the butts.
Tie in a brown dry hackle at the front.
Wrap 3-4 turns of hackle in front of the wing, then trim the bottom fibers flat so the fly sits flush. A resting, low-riding caddis silhouette.
