Classic Recipe
- Hook Standard dry fly, 10-16

Materials
- Rear hackle Brown hackle (2-3 wraps)
- Body Peacock herl (full)
- Front hackle White or cream front hackle (2-3 wraps)
How to tie it
- Mount hook, lay a base to the bend.
- Wrap 2-3 turns of brown hackle right at the bend.
- Tie in 2-3 peacock herls, twist into a rope, and wrap a full body forward to one eye-length behind the eye.
- Wrap 2-3 turns of white or cream hackle at the front.
- Whip finish between the front hackle and the eye.
Substitutions
- Body instead of Peacock herl: Peacock Ice Dub — Much more durable; UV Peacock dubbing — Adds UV trigger; Synthetic Peacock Chenille — Indestructible
- Rear hackle instead of Brown: Furnace hackle — Dark center, brown edges. Attractive; Coachman brown — Classic rich brown
- Front hackle instead of White or cream: Badger — White with dark center stripe; Light ginger — Warmer light tone
