- Hook Wet fly / down-eye, 12-16
- Thread Red 70 denier
Materials
- Glass seed beads Red, small (3-4 (body))
- Dubbing Peacock or red-brown dubbing (thorax)
- Hen hackle Brown or furnace hen hackle (1 feather)
- UV resin Clear uv resin (body coat)
How to tie it
- Start red thread behind the eye and run it to the bend.
- Thread 3-4 small red glass beads onto the shank, slide them back to form a short translucent body, and lock them front and back with thread.
- Dub a thin peacock or red-brown thorax in front of the beads.
- Tie in a brown or furnace hen hackle by the tip, take 2 soft turns, and sweep the fibers back.
- Form a small head, whip finish, and add a thin UV coat over the glass beads.
