How to tie it
Slide the 1/8 in red slotted tungsten bead onto the size 12 jig hook and lay a base of red thread from behind the bead back to the rear.
Pull the tip from a black marabou plume, gather the fibers and tie them in at the rear for a tail about two shank lengths long. Err long; you can always trim it back.
Take two strands of red Flashabou, fold them across the shank at the midpoint so two lie on each side of the tail, tie them in and trim them to the length of the tail.
Tie in medium copper wire at the rear and leave it hanging for the rib.
Tie in medium red holographic tinsel just behind the bead, wrap it back to the tail, then bring the thread forward and wrap the tinsel forward over it to build a smooth body covering all the thread.
Tie in a black saddle hackle with fibers about one hook gap long right behind the bead and trim the excess.
Take one wrap of hackle just behind the bead, then palmer it back to the tail with only three or four open turns; you do not want a bushy body.
Counter-wrap the copper wire forward through the hackle to lock it in, trying not to trap fibers, then helicopter the wire off at the front and snip the hackle tip off at the tail.
Build a small red head behind the bead and whip finish.
