Classic Recipe
Hook Jig hook, 14-18
Thread Brown 8/0
Materials
Bead Slotted tungsten (1)
Tail CDL (sparse)
Body Stripped peacock quill (wrapped)
Thorax Ice Dub (small)
Coat UV resin over quill (thin)
How to tie it
Slide a slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook and mount it. Start brown thread behind the bead.
Tie in a few sparse Coq de Leon fibers at the bend for a tail about one shank long.
Tie in a stripped peacock quill and wrap it forward in touching, edge-to-edge turns so the natural stripe shows as clean segmentation, then tie off behind the bead.
Coat the quill body with a thin layer of UV resin and cure it, this armors the fragile quill and gives the glassy perdigon finish.
Dub a small flashy Ice Dub thorax behind the bead.
