Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Wet fly, 10-14
  • Thread Brown 8/0

Materials

  • Body Orange permanent marker (floss)
  • Palmer hackle Brown hackle (1 cock hackle)
  • Wing Grey polar fibre (mallard flank)

How to tie it

  1. Start the thread and tie in a brown hackle by its tip at the hook bend.
  2. Wrap an orange floss body forward to just behind the eye.
  3. Palmer the brown hackle forward over the body in open turns and tie it off.
  4. Tie in a grey mallard-flank wing over the body, length to the hook bend.
  5. Whip finish behind the eye.
