Materials

  • Overbody Natural case (Loco Foam, cut one hook-gap wide, shiny side down)
  • Body Chartreuse arctic fox (Cactus chenille)

How to tie it

  1. Start fluorescent wine thread at the eye, trim the tag, and wrap a base back past the bend of the hook before bringing it forward again.
  2. Cut a strip of Loco Foam roughly one hook-gap wide and tie it in shiny side down, binding it back to where the hook leaves the vise jaws.
  3. Take several tight wraps to compact the foam against the shank.
  4. Tie in a length of chartreuse cactus chenille at the front, wrap the thread back to the bend, then palmer the chenille forward over the shank.
  5. Secure the chenille at the front and trim the excess.
  6. Fold the foam forward over the body and hold it while taking a few light wraps to lock it down.
  7. Whip finish, then seal the wraps with head cement picked in on a bodkin.
  8. Trim the foam head to the length you want — this is the part tyers vary most.
