- Hook streamer / steelhead hook, 4-8
- Thread Black 6/0
Materials
- Oval tinsel (rib) Silver oval tinsel (1 strand)
- Ice dub or braid (body) Purple ice dub (pinch)
- Flash (underwing) Purple / pearl flash (a few strands)
- Bucktail or marabou (wing) Purple marabou (sparse bunch)
- Deer hair (collar & head) Natural/dyed deer hair (1-2 stacks)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook, start the thread, and wrap to the bend.
- Tie in silver tinsel, then dub a purple ice-dub body forward to the 70% mark and rib the tinsel forward in 5 turns.
- Tie in an underwing of purple flash, then a wing of purple bucktail (or marabou) over the body, reaching to the bend.
- At the 80% mark, stack and spin a bunch of deer hair to form a flared collar and the base of the head.
- Whip finish tight against the eye, then trim the spun deer hair into a rounded muddler head, flat on the underside.
- Add a drop of cement to the whip finish.
