Materials
- Bead Gold bead (1)
- Goose biots (tail) Brown goose biots (2)
- Flat tinsel (rib) Gold oval tinsel (1 strand)
- Ice dub / peacock herl (body) Purple ice dub peacock herl (pinch)
- Hen hackle (collar) Brown hen hackle (1 feather)
- Goose biots (wings) White goose biots (2)
How to tie it
- Slide the gold bead to the eye, mount the hook, and start black thread.
- Tie in two brown goose biots at the bend, splayed into a forked tail one shank length long.
- Tie in the flat gold tinsel for the rib.
- Dub a purple ice-dub body forward to the 75% mark.
- Rib the tinsel forward in 4-5 open turns and tie off.
- Tie in a brown hen hackle and take 2 turns as a soft collar, then sweep the fibers back.
- Lay two white goose biots flat over the top in a shallow V as wings, tips to the hook point.
- Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
